Link to your Files

Link to your files MyOtherDrive.com also allows you to easily create Internet links (hyperlinks) to your files. Upload a file or folder and rapidly share it to friends. Just copy the link (URL) to the clipboard, paste it into an email and send it on. The recipient can then access the link you give them. Link to your images from eBay or MySpace.

MyOtherDrive.com makes it easy to obtain a URL that is valid for as long as the file is on our server. Move the files between directories or rename the file without having to worry about your URL changing. This gives you great flexibility in making changes even after the file is publicly shared.

Can I share links to Folders and Files?

Yes you can. There is an "Address" bar at the top of the screen. When you select a folder that is shared, it will display the URL (hyperlink) for that folder or file. Email that link to a friend. When the friend clicks on the link, it will take them to a nice HTML folder view showing a 'thumbnail' image of all of the files in that folder (see example). If they click on the thumbnail, they will see a screen-size image if the file is a shared picture. If it is a video, they will be able to view the full video. If it is a music file (MP3, wma, etc.), they will be able to listen to the audio file. If you give 'download' permission to the folder, the link recipient will be able to get the entire original image, movie, or audio file.
